Almost 40 years ago, an incurable hi-fi enthusiast and engineering talent MILAN KARAN, brought into the world the brand name of KARAN Acoustics. A name that was to become a synonym for a small collection of very best solid-state (transistor) preamplifiers and power amplifiers the modern world of true high-end audio would have witnessed to this day. And for years into the future.

Since the very first KARAN Acoustics product – a 100W per channel integrated amplifier – designed and executed to the same highest criteria and standards we know today – the ethos and credo of the company never changed. While true and total perfection may not be possible, persistent and relentless pursuit of the “horizon out of reach” made sure that everything that was possible always did happen. And got better in every subsequent iteration or a new(er) design.

The first generation of KARAN Acoustics amplification lived happily for over 20 years benefitting from incremental, but invaluable improvements, whenever Milan discovered and implemented anything that would have made the sound one tiny step closer to natural perfection. As time went on, work on the definitive and absolute statement from KARAN Acoustics was progressing in giant leaps year after year. It was not easy to sufficiently and comprehensively improve on something that has already been among the very best of the kind. But, Milan succeeded. The Master Collection of KARAN Acoustics preamplifiers (line and phono) and amplifiers (stereo and mono) arrived one by one between Summer 2020 and early 2022. Once again, the most discerned global high-end audio community saw, heard and welcomed with delight the new sonic reference from Milan Karan and KARAN Acoustics. Traditional and online international audio press, world’s leading high-end audio distributors and retail consultants embraced the Master Collection creations, while new and existing brand supporters and loyalists appreciated the sonic standards of the new range in their incredulity.

KARAN Acoustics designs and products with their unique sonic signature became a justified trademark of unbelievably close approach to the natural sound of performed or recorded music. Uncompromised design, combined with the best passive and active components, as well as the scrupulous approach to assembly and quality control one expects from a small manufacture. Bringing the unequivocal pledge of a reference standard sonic results from every finished product.

Milan Karan is, sadly, no longer with us. His huge legacy lives very much on, with the same dedication, passion and energy through his son Emil and the KARAN Acoustics production team Milan has built and had around him from the very beginnings. Long may it continue…
